This year for me is smart musically, especially compared to last year, when I went almost 4 months without being able to attend a concert, not by choice. However, I made up for it in 2024.
I attended 55 concerts and festivals this year. I danced to some of my favorite artists, as well as the new makers I recently discovered. I’ve hit the dance floors of 4 music festivals, venues, and a personal island in Belize. I even drove on stages in some of the biggest clubs in New York.
I listened to 19,355 hours of music this year, according to my Spotify Wrapped. I tuned into music while riding the subway, walking around my home that is New York City, traveling, getting ready for a night out, cooking, cleaning and more. I also made a point to listen to Four Tet’s entire album catalog, which dates back to 1999, giving me ample music to get lost in.
This year, I found that it’s easier to explore new albums, basically thanks to my daily Spotify playlist. I have a bad habit of listening to my favorite songs over and over again, but the feature of the music streaming service has helped me solve this problem. Without it, I wouldn’t have rediscovered some of my most productive songs from over a decade ago, I wouldn’t have discovered new remixes of songs I love, I wouldn’t have fallen in love with new artists and records, or immersed myself in genres outside of myself. old listen habits and much more. One of my favorite things about music is dancing to it, but finding that it’s taken a mid-level this year, especially with the albums.
We are in an age governed through singles, where artists are forced to transmit them constantly. But where has album appreciation disappeared?I prefer them to be simple for many reasons, but basically because long songs tell a story. While a fictional fiction Global Fantasy enters. Perhaps immerse yourself in the artistic global that encouraged the sound designer. Or, perhaps, being drawn into a heartbreaking story so applicable that it feels some of the same feelings the artist felt when writing the LP.
Some albums are about a never-before-told tale, while others may take you on a journey through the artist’s sonic evolution or even detail a universal life experience, such as dealing with the loss of a loved one. However, each LP tells it differently.
Listen to what your audio narrator has to say through the good appearance of sound. All you have to do is press play.
I listened to the catalog of four TET albums this year, 25 years of music. Three is my LP through it. During his mythical career, which involves everything, playing melodic melodies that give a sense of preference to the suppression of “Country Riddim” at Coachella, 3 remembers that he is company to stay true to his distinctive sound. DIY tunes, extremely upbeat beats, leak sounds, enchanting production, heavenly soundscapes, and more are heard in the long game. Be sure to check out the expanded edition, 3, for another 4 songs of excellence.
It all begins with upbeat sounds, creating a sensation of euphoria. Later, it ends with a dance floor heater, one that’s set to get ravers grooving. It’s an album as delicious as its name. It’s an LP that masterfully blends the Caribou project’s sound with the brainchild’s club-leaning Daphni alias. It’s a body of work that’s perfect to be played when you’re in a state of pure joy. And if you aren’t already in that state, you will be upon tuning in. At least that’s how I felt when seeing the Honey Tour, which was one of the best shows I attended in 2024.
Godspeed is like getting in loop with your friends. This feels like the beginning of the club’s culture. But it also sounds like the music of the future. The 24 -track debut album of the blessed Madonna examines the spectrum of human feelings through a realistic lens. This demonstrates its ability to create avant -garde space music.
The album begins with a distorted but charming and bewitching song, the groundwork for what is to come. And the following is a set of masterfully produced paintings. The duality of the LP adds to its already captivating flavor of sound that advances the dance music scene.
On Waves is Jamie XX’s LP Moment, following his first LP in 2015 in color. This year’s release is more dancefloor than their first project, however, the two workforces remain in line with their signature sound. Peggy Gou has been in the game since the 2010. Taking into account how masterful I hear you, he proves that his debut studio album values the wait.
To say that Isoxo is increasing the tension in KGM(irl)* is an understatement. He’s going full throttle, creating drops so relentless that listeners can feel the thud of the bass on their bodies. Clozee and LSDREAM power manufacturers are joining to create a new surprising task called LSZEE. The homonymous debut album is Trippy, wobble, wobbled and funky. Without even watching the album touched live. As it has been in a show of Lszee Tour, I can attest to the desirable visual production that transports to another dimension.
Piano house maven LP Giobbi created Dotr while grieving the deaths of three people very close to her who passed in quick succession.
