Celebrity Cruises’ latest ship, Celebrity Ascent, was unveiled to the world today at a special christening rite in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The new cruise line, which is the sister line to Celebrity Beyond, would establish new popularity for modern cruising and enhance the premium experience.
Attending the naming ceremony were the ship’s co-Godmothers Captain Sandy Yawn, the star of Below Deck, and her sister Michelle Dunham, the founder of the Jacksonville School for Autism.
The cruise ship was named in a ceremony in a true maritime tradition where someone breaks a champagne bottle on the ship’s hull.
Celebrity Ascent includes incredible features and has been designed by some of the world’s leading architects and interior designers to provide a sumptuous experience.
The shipment also includes Michelin-starred chefs as in-flight entertainment.
Some of the ship’s features include an exclusive hotel domain within an all-suite visitor hotel called The Retreat; Luxury accommodation with two-story villas with private pools and cabanas with infinity terraces.
And the unparalleled luxury doesn’t stop there. The ship also has a Rooftop Garden and a stunning Resort Deck which as unique cantilevered float pools.
There’s also a multi-terraced Sunset Bar; an expanded onboard entertainment program which includes live productions, interactive gaming experiences and live music; a redesigned casino floor; a new outdoor dining terrace at Blu; an exclusive culinary experience in Le Voyage by Chef Daniel Boulud and the return of the Magic Carpet®.
Ascent will depart Fort Lauderdale on Dec. 3 for a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise that will arrive in St. Louis. Maarten, St. Thomas and the Dominican Republic.
Following her maiden voyage, April will see a series of Caribbean itineraries, followed by a Mediterranean voyage from Barcelona to Rome.
A seven-night Bahamas, Mexico and Grand Cayman itinerary from mid-December 2023 to early April 2024.
