A 29-year-old Texas woman known as a committed member of her church was discovered shot dead hours after leading her Sunday service, authorities said.
A motorist discovered that Markie McGinnis was inspecting his car, according to Liberty County MPs, who told ABC13 that he fired several times through the driver’s side window.
“Markie was a cheerful user who enjoyed other people and accepted everyone as he is. This is a tragic loss to her circle of family and friends because she enjoys it so much and we will miss her so much,” said a circle of family received throughout the station.
Pastor Sean Mooney told the station that McGinnis helped conduct a worship service in the Church of the Related Community a few hours before it was discovered.
“Your loss is a tragedy for all of us, ” said Mooney.
On Tuesday, from the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, they reported arresting a man at a relative’s home in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.
Henry Davis, 24, arrested and charged with being a fugitive, according to online records from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, is detained without bail and is not known if he has received an attorney.

Louisiana is running with the Texas Rangers and Liberty County Sheriff’s Office to extradite Davis to Texas on a murder warrant, according to Fox26 television.
After Davis’ arrest, a spokesman for the family circle told ABC13 that they had never seen him before, but that they were grateful that a suspect had been arrested.
“We are grateful for the help of the circle of family, friends and networks as we continue at this difficult time,” said a friend of the family circle at the station. “Markie will be our bright beacon that will lead us to do more and move on. “
