“Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” dethroned in Netflix’s 10 Most Sensible through a new film

After being Netflix’s most sensible movie for nearly two weeks, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F fell from its No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Top 10 list. This time it’s not a Netflix original, but a 2023 movie starring Dennis Quaid, Jay Hernandez, and Cheech Marin.

That movie is The Long Game, a movie about golf. Here’s the summary:

It’s apparently pretty good, with a critic score of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes and a really good audience score of 97%. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s because it only grossed $3 million internationally in theaters, yet Netflix audiences were driven to watch what is almost in fact the most watched movie in the country, given the Netflix reach.

As for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, it was a triumphant return for Eddie Murphy to the role that had propelled him to stardom. This also received solid reviews and a lot of praise for its functionality in particular. There’s no word on a fifth film after this one’s good fortune, but he wouldn’t rule out the option at this point. I mean, there’s obviously still an appetite for Murphy and this character.

The third movie on the list is a Netflix mystery that actually comes from Italy, Gone in the Night, where a couple tries to locate their missing children. Netflix’s A Family Affair fell to number five after its long reign at the top. And you guessed it, the rest of the list is made up of the children’s movies that are soon to arrive, Minions, Super Mario Bros and Shrek. We can now add two more children’s films to this list, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 and Little Rascals from 1994, among others.

I don’t exactly expect The Long Game to stay at the top level for that long, but with those fake reviews and a tie like Quaid, it could do pretty well and it’s great that it’s gaining more viewership after its lukewarm functionality. at the box office. It seems like a smart movie to watch with my parents when they come to town.
