Eight-time Oscar nominees Bradley Cooper and Paul Thomas Anderson are coming up.
Cooper is in talks to star in Anderson’s upcoming film, an untitled majority drama set in the 1970s San Fernando Valley, resources told The Hollywood Reporter.
The main points of the plot are kept secret, however, the film is several plots that revolve around a child actor who attends one of the best schools in the valley, which is the setting for some of Anderson’s best-known titles, adding Boogie, Magnolia Nights and Punch. Intoxicating love. It’s unclear what role Cooper would play in the film.
Anderson wrote and produced the film with his banner Ghoulardi Film Company, with Sarah Murphy.
The task, which recently moved to MGM’s Focus Features, is being prepared for a spring/summer 2020 production start date before the closure of COVID-19. According to sources, the assignment now contemplates early fall, but it depends on how and when productions can resume filming in Los Angeles.
MGM and Cooper representatives did comment.
After being acclaimed for his paintings in A Star Is Born, Cooper has set up his next task: the camera: an untitled performance by Leonard Bernstein for Netflix. The film will see Cooper direct and play the role of the legendary songwriter, as well as producing with Todd Phillips, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.
Cooper, replaced via CAA, will continue production of Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley, which was closed amid filming due to the pandemic.
