Britney Spears’ gloriously awful Lifetime biopic Britney Ever After has been uploaded onto YouTube in full for everyone to see.
And we’re not going to lie, we’re completely obsessed.
The film, which was released in 2017, scored an impressive 12% on review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes and 2.5 stars on IMDb when it was first aired on US network Lifetime, famed for its cheesy Christmas movies and dodgy true crime dramatisations.
Unable to secure the rights to any of Britney’s songs, Britney Ever After follows the tale of the star from her years in the Mickey Mouse Club, her success as a teen idol and relationship with Justin Timberlake through to her breakdown in 2007 and her eventual comeback.
It was panned by critics who watched on in horror over the biopic’s inaccuracies and general tone.
Even Britney refused to give the show her blessing, with a rep stating that the singer would ‘not be contributing in any way, shape or form to the Lifetime biopic.’
Now it’s free for all to watch – and as it begins to make the rounds online, viewers are truly baffled by what they’re watching.
While the reaction isn’t exactly positive, we’ve got to admit… we think it’s a ‘so bad it’s good’ classic in the making.
At least we know what to rewatch during our next movie night.
Britney Ever After is available now on Lifetime and YouTube.
