Cameron Diaz made a rare appearance on screen and felt “at peace” after moving away from the Hollywood spotlight.
Diaz, who recently presented his own diversity of organic and additive-free wines, spoke candidly about giving up his Hollywood career, saying the actors were “infantilized” and wanted as independent.
The Golden Globe-nominated actor did a remote interview with Gwyneth Paltrow for “In goop Health: The Sessions” and asked, “What is it like to move away from a film career of this magnitude?”
“Peace. I had peace in my soul because I was still taking care of myself,” Diaz replied. “Even if you say so, I’m like, I sit with my feet on the ground and light.”

“It’s something to say, I know that many other people would probably not perceive it, I know that you perceive it, however, it was very intense to paint at the time and be so public and show you,” Diaz said.
“You have a lot of power at all times when you’re visual as an actor, you’re making the press known.”
“I have the overwhelming power of the envelope myself.”
“When you make a movie, they ‘own you’.” You’re there 12 hours a day for months. You don’t have time for anything else.

“I spent part of my life with other people, and they took it away from them. And I had to take it back.”
Diaz said the actors were “infantilized” through managers and sought to be “autonomous.”
“I needed to know that I could take care of myself and that I knew how to be an adult, and I knew how to navigate the global complexity of being an adult and having responsibilities.
