Cardi B has a long list of expectations for our next president, and racial justice is one of his priorities.
The rapper of “WAP” spoke to alleged Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden in an interview with Elle mag published Monday to discuss her key interests in the upcoming election.
The interview pre-empes the four days of the 2020 Democratic National Convention, which begins Monday night and will address the issue of unity. Former President Barack Obama and former girl Michelle Obama are expected to deliver Monday’s latest speeches.
“I need other black people to keep them from killing me, and there’s no justice for it. I’m not in good health. I just need legislation that’s fair to black citizens and also for cops,” Cardi said.
For the rapper, sympathy is enough in the fight for racial justice: it calls for equality and systemic change.

“We’re not asking for charity, we’re just asking for equality. We ask for fairness and ask for justice,” Cardi said. “That’s it. I have a feeling that everything others ask is interpreted differently. No, it’s simple: we just need justice. We need to feel American.”
Biden believes it is a credible request, and explains that he is “very optimistic” about our generation.
“You are the smartest generation, with the utmost education, with the least prejudice and with the utmost commitment in history. And you’re going to make a difference,” he said.
Cardi B and Biden also discussed the current state of racial injustice under President Donald Trump, the 27-year-old rapper who expresses hope of a leader capable of cleaning up “racism (which) has existed.”
“This prejudice is dangerous. This may just be the beginning of a civil war. It makes other people uncomfortable with other people. No one needs to feel attacked. No one needs animosity,” Cardi said.
Cardi added that “everyone needs the most productive for themselves” in a world where “we just paint with others.”

‘I don’t need (I have to) tell my child, ‘You have to be careful when going to the store.’ Don’t wear a hoodie. Please don’t stop.’ “We don’t need that, ” he told me. “And I don’t need to feel a sure kind of animosity toward another race, because I feel like they’re doing it more easily than we are. No one needs to feel that way.”
Biden gave the electorate an example of a step toward equality that he would give if elected president: providing flexible schooling to low-income families.
“If I am elected president, anyone who has a circle of relatives (who wins) less than $125,000 will get a flexible education. And everyone will get a flexible network university,” Biden said.
Cardi asked if Biden could do it. His answer: “Absolutely, positively.”
“I’m going to make mistakes as president, but I’m going to admit the mistakes I make and I’ll never have to wonder if I’m going to keep my word,” Biden said. “Look at me, I never broke my word. Never in my life.”
