The latest addition to Catherine Zeta-Jones’ lifestyle logo was born from a stage that is too familiar for an experienced traveler.
Discussing with Travel and Leisure the exciting addition of shoes to her Portfolio of Casa Zeta-Jones, the award-winning actress recalled that she had discovered the logo she would marry, the British company Butterfly Twists, while at an airport with a soft bulb on her heel.
“I like it, ‘I want a pair of shoes!'” he said.
Zeta-Jones, born in Britain, who grew up in Wales and introduced her acting career to London’s West End, said that once she started working with the brand, it was a collaborative “love party.”
The actress made sure that Casa Zeta-Jones products, whose diversity from clothing to interior design, consist of pieces she would wear every day, and the new diversity of vegan apartments, starting at $71, is no different.
“I love all kinds of shoes and I have more shoes than even my husband thinks, but that’s not necessarily what I live in my life,” he told T-L. “Anyone who travels as far as I do knows that you can wear a really fancy interior with your heels, but don’t think about entering the squares with your stilettos.”
“Anyone who knows Europe knows that you don’t wear stilettos, wear your flat shoes on the cobblestone streets unless you need to break your neck,” or “keep your spouse for life,” he joked.
His favorite pair in the collection is the Olivia black-and-white dish.
“I’m a little more a fan of chromatics,” he admitted. “I have rooms in my space that are only in black and white, this is my favorite wedding dress, it’s my favorite business suit.
Of all the apartments, which come in fabrics, patterns and textures, Zeta-Jones said, those are “classics.”
“They walk past with a skirt, they pass with pants, they pass in shorts,” he said, noting that he had samples long before his release date, which is delayed by the coronavirus pandemic. “I wear them before I play passlf, I use them after passlf, I run with my dog, I jump in the car, I wear them as slippers.”
Zeta-Jones, who has a passport full of stamps from his travels through India, Croatia, Morocco and Australia, said shoes were the best for all facets of the globetrotter, from packaging to tourism.
“Actually, they fold into a small bag, you can buy them in the side corner of your [bag], they’re the best thing for that,” he said. “I used to do it literally with a suitcase full of shoes, but over time, especially after having my kids, the shoes have to pass and the toys should take their place.
Speaking of her children, the mother of two was quarantined in New York with her husband Michael Douglas, whom she describes as “the most productive travel agent in the world”, and the family circle is enjoying her time together, Zeta-Jones said she is very happy to, despite everything, move from house to Spain and isolate heus there long enough to get to her mother’s house in Britain.
And from there, who knows?
French Polynesia New Zealand is on his wish list, he said effusively.
“Michael and I are wonderful, wonderful travelers, we dream of traveling,” he said. “I’m a gypsy, I feel like I’m never completely in myself if I don’t have the concept of going somewhere.”
