Love pours in after the death of one of country music’s biggest iconic names.
Naomi Judd, who rose to fame doing a song with her daughter Wynonna in the 1980s as a duo The Judds, died Saturday, April 30. He was 76 years old and one day away from induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Today the sisters live a tragedy. We lost our mother-in-law to an intellectual illness. We are shattered. We navigated a deep grief and know that just as we enjoyed her, she enjoyed it through her audience. We are in uncharted territory.
Wynonna, who went through her first call at the start of a solo career, and her sister Ashley said their mother died of a “mental illness. “Following the announcement, several celebrities from the country music and entertainment industry expressed their sadness and words on social media.

Judd’s popular hits include “Mama He’s Crazy,” “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Old Days)” and “Love Can Build A Bridge. “In total, the mother-daughter duo won five Grammy Awards, the Country Academy. Best Music Duo from 1984 to 1990, and winner of the Country Music Association’s Horizon Award in 1984.
Earlier this year, Naomi and Wynonna performed together as The Judds for the first time in decades at the CMA Awards with a performance of “Love Can Build A Bridge. “

During inductions to the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville on May 1, Judd’s circle of relatives called for the rite to continue as planned. Ashley Judd addressed the crowd not only to greet her mother, but also Wynonna, who officially won her Hall of Fame. medallion that night.
Hall of Famer and Kentucky resident Ricky Skaggs officially added The Judds to the country music honor.
