There are some celebrities who have a genuine chance of winning, but this year that number is higher than ever.
When the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament kicks off Friday at Edgewood Tahoe, it will feature the most powerful box it has ever had in its 33-year history.
Celebrities at the ACC this week are coming with Justin Timberlake; Stephen, Dell and Seth Curry; Annika Sorenstam; patrician mahomes; Tony Romo; Aaron Rogers; Charles Barkley; reigning champion Vinny Del Negro and new attendees Colin Jost of Saturday Night Live, WWE superstar The Miz and singer-songwriters Nick Jonas and Jake Owen.

The course has 87 sports and entertainment participants participating in the 54-hole tournament, which uses the Modified Stableford scoring system.
One difference from the past two years is that an entire gallery of viewers will be admitted to Edgewood. Capacity was limited to 50% last year and no ventilators were allowed in 2020 due to pandemic restrictions.
The box collectively represents 17 Hall of Famers, thirteen Most Valuable Player winners and several Cy Young and Player of the Year awards, as well as several Grammy and Emmy Award winners.
There are 12 new entrants Alex Caruso, Dwight Freeney, Robert Griffin III, Nick Jonas, Colin Jost, Jon Lester, Pat McAfee, The Miz, Jake Owen, Jason Scheff, Harrison Smith and Jayson Werth.
There are 4 on the course, and annika Sorenstam, a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, is competing in the ACC for the third time (2014, 2021).
She will be joined by “Today Show” anchor/meteorologist Dylan Dreyer, golf personality Paige Spiranac and NBC Sports reporter Kathryn Tappen on the course.
Vinny Del Negro won the John Smoltz playoffs last year, days after his father’s death.
Those two, along with three-time champion Mark Mulder, two-time champion Tony Romo and Mardy Fish, who won in 2020, will likely be among the contenders.
But also look for Annika Sorenstam, who was in the race last year, and Steph Curry is almost in the most sensible ranking.

Dixon will conduct interviews with players in the championship box.
