TIVERTON – Rhode Island may be the smallest state, but its food scene is all about flavors.

So it’s no surprise that Guy Fieri, prominent entertainer and self-proclaimed mayor of Flavortown, took the road to Little Rhody last week.

The Food Network star has been to several restaurants in Rhode Island and Massachusetts on his show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” over the years, and now returns for a few seconds while filming segments of his new show “Triple D. “Nation. “

One of the Fieri favorites to be on display is Evelyn’s Drive-in in Tiverton, which ran during limited hours Friday (takeout window until 3 p. m. m. ) to host your special guest for a day of filming at the popular beachfront seafood destination.

“Triple D Nation” is a spin-off of the much-loved Fieri series “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” which premiered in 2007 and featured Evelyn in season 2 in an episode titled “Seaside Eats. “possibly it is, it’s true,” Fieri joked at the time about the restaurant’s lobster chow mein.

In his new “Triple D Nation” series, Fieri revisits some of the restaurants he presented at “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” in the past.

Evelyn is no stranger to attention. The summer tourist destination has gained regular visits from “Phantom Gourmet” in the past and has been featured on “Today,” which has helped give its season a welcome boost.

“We’re definitely spreading intelligent vibrations into the universe,” owner Jane Bitto said in an interview with the Herald News in 2022, noting that Evelyn’s TV appearances “definitely remind other people to come in or that other new people will check it out. “”

While owners Jane Bitto and her husband, Domenic, keep their clams closed, at the request of the production, about the explicit main points of the last episode of Fieri until the episode airs, they presented some details.

After being contacted through Fieri’s production team, the “Triple D” crews settled in at five in the morning on Friday, August 15, for a 10-hour filming day at the Tiverton restaurant, located above Nanaquaket Pond. An organization of 12 of Evelyn’s clients I also had the opportunity to dine and chat with Fieri as part of the shoot.

“They were amazing. . . kind and respectful,” Jane said of Fieri and his team. “Our consumers love Evie so much that it’s the sweetest thing to hear all the interesting things they had to say. It’s a very smart overall experience. “

Patti’s Pierogis, a Fall River staple to original Polish cuisine, was also the place of an unforgettable stopover (for the city’s foodies, at least) at Fieri in 2012. The host stopped in his cherry-red Camaro amid a crowd of excited onlookers and closed the meal. Place for 3 days of shooting.
