Miami – Royal Caribbean Group ordered some other shipping to be registered in the celebrity cruise fleet in 2028.
The ship – Celebrity’s sixth in its Edge Series – will be the sister ship to Celebrity Xcel, which will celebrate its inaugural sail later this year. Other Edge Series ships include Celebrity Ascent, Celebrity Beyond, Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Edge – the first ship in the series that was delivered in 2018.
When signing an agreement with Chantier de L’Atlantique, the corporate marks Mile for the Edge’s Edge series with what is called “Edge 6” or “Xcel 2,” says Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group.

Celebrity Cruises’ Edge Series ships feature a vast array of state-of-the-art features, including the iconic Magic Carpet – the world’s first cantilevered, floating platform at sea – and Infinite Veranda staterooms. The new ship will also make room for other yet-to-be-announced innovations.

Royal Caribbean Group’s new pipeline lately includes a general of 8 ships in order. In addition to celebrity Xcel, the corporate will also welcome Royal Caribbean International’s star of the seas this year.
