Celebrity Masterchef’s first blind contestant Amar Latif shocks viewers and impresses judges with show-stopping dinner

The presenter inspired the audience and the judges with their efforts to avoid the exhibition last night.

“Love in #MasterChef is an inspiration,” said one fan.

He added: “Thank you Love and Masterchef. Father of 2 blind children over 12 and 7 years old, are already being encouraged through Love, they may even have them cook for me!!”

“Crikey — Amar Latif is a little amazing. I have a lot of admiration for him and I like his humor,” a third on Twitter said.

Amar, 45, obviously nervous about his debut at the BBC’s cooking show and admitted that he “didn’t know what he was doing there.”

But as he entered the famous kitchen, he said, “As a blind man, many other people tell you ‘you do that, you do that …’

“When someone tells me that, I think, “You know what? I’m going to do it. “”

Judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace congratulated Amar on his plate of fish and noodle salad, describing it as “fabulous” and “fantastic,” before sending him round.

Viiewers were in awe as he and the other celebrities joined the lunchtime service at London restaurant Mortimer House, coached by head chef Lello Favuzzi.

One said: “This chef training Amar is wonderful. Patient, attentive, descriptive and not condescending. Some of them on here have been on a real ego trip.”

One moment he added: “Congratulations to Amar Latif, who broke the barriers and directed one of the most productive episodes of all The Masterchef series. Your mentor in the professional kitchen is also amazing!”

Amar, who lost 95% of his sight when he was only 18 years old due to an incurable eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa, gave the impression of relief after presenting his dish to the judges.

Speaking to the camera, he said: “I think I am proud of what I’ve managed to do.”
