Law Roach, a prominent stylist for Zendaya and other celebrities, is retiring.
The 44-year-old stylist took to Instagram on Tuesday to share that his “cup is empty,” with a symbol of the word “retired. “
“My Cup is empty,” he wrote. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and my career over the years. I am very grateful to all the users who sent me their image. “
Roach then alluded to some of the points that led to his decision, going into detail.
“If this business was just about clothes, I would be doing it for the rest of my life, but unfortunately it’s not like that!”He continued. ” Politics, lies and false narratives nevertheless gave me!You win

On social media, he also dispelled some of the rumors stemming from his Instagram post, whispering that he and his partnership with Zendaya were at a crossroads.
“Then you think I’m breaking up with Z. . . We are forever,” he tweeted Wednesday.
He followed with a tweet, writing, “This is my little sister and this is true love, not the fake love of the industry. “
The retirement announcement came less than a week after Roach attended Versace’s Fall/Winter 2023 exhibit at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California.
In November, the Council of Fashion Designers of America awarded Roach the first Stylist Award. During the ceremony, Kerry Washington told Roach from his humble Chicago roots to ingenious tactics for dressing then-aspiring actress Zendaya, with whom he created some of the most memorable looks on the red carpet.
After receiving the award, Roach, a self-proclaimed symbol architect, recalled how fashion designer Michael Kors invited him to attend the CFDA Awards in 2016, where he watched the exhibit from the kitchen.

“In 2016, I invited Michael Kors to come to the CFDA Awards in the Hammerstein Ballroom, sat in the kitchen and watched from the kitchen the waiters serving your food and drinks, and I thought, ‘One day I’ll be on this stage,'” Roach said disappointed. “I am the example that anything is possible. “
