On April 26, Billy Joel serenaded his ex-wife, Christie Brinkley, at their concert at Madison Square Garden.
In a video received via Fox News Digital, Brinkley is seen singing “Uptown Girl,” a song Joel wrote about her in 1983. It was played on the jumbotron for the whole crowd to see.
The footage shows Joel passionately singing a song for Brinkley.
In 2010, Joel showed that “Uptown Girl” was written about Brinkley (she gave the impression in the music video), though he explained that there’s more to the story.

“I wasn’t even hanging out with Christie when I started writing the song; I was dating Elle [Macpherson],” Joel said on “The Howard Stern Show. “He remembers a time when he surrounded Brinkley, Macpherson and Whitney Houston as he ran. in the song.
“That’s why I started writing a song called ‘Uptown Girls. ‘It is plural. I couldn’t believe, you know, the scenario I was in,” he said of having a crowd of beauties around him.
