After Trump took office, Strawberry defended him in 2017 in an interview with Sports Illustrated, comparing him to Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, who died in 2010.
“It reminds me of the boss, just as George was for the Yankees. They are very typical people and care about other people. And other people don’t understand that,” Strawberry said.
