The Italian capital is an attraction that deserves to be added to your list of things to do. And where to stay in such an emblematic place? The Bulgari Hotel Rome is one of the latest additions to Rome’s hotel landscape and, indeed, the ultimate chic. Zendaya and Priyanka Chopra Jonas came here for liberation and modern Roman citizens have flocked to the boujee bar and destination restaurant since the hotel opened. in June. We can see why.

Bulgari Hotel Rome can be found in the Campo Marzio district of the city center. Just a few minutes from the Tiber, you can easily walk to all the main tourist attractions (although our tour coincided with European heat waves, so taxis were a better option).
The same old department stores and department stores of the city center are within walking distance of the hotel and Piazza Augusto Imperatore is a quiet street, away from the main arteries. If you are looking for something very special, you can make a stop in Via Bulgari. The Condotti store, opened in 1894, we liked to walk along the Carrefour Express in Via Della Croce (5 minutes walk) to stock up on pasta and biscotti to take home as a treat. Italian supermarkets are simply different.

Like any sprawling urban agglomeration, Rome has neighborhoods that are far from pretty, but in the center you can’t turn your head without being lucky enough to have postcard-worthy perspectives (and the odds of aesthetic backgrounds are #OOTD plentiful). it overlooks the Mausoleum of Augustus, which was being renovated when we visited, so there’s history just around the corner. Piazza del Popolo is also five minutes away, with the added bonus of passing through Gelateria die Gracchi on the way and the possibility of cooling off with a spoonful. of ice cream. The peach flavor *the chef’s kiss*.
Echoing Bulgari’s signature style of subtle jewelery studded with colored gemstones, the room or suite is a delight in rich jewel tones of ochre, burgundy, bottle green and chocolate. If you’ve ever visited one of the other Bulgari hotels, their palettes are much more subdued and monochromatic, yet the Rome venue’s decor is everything one could dream of mid-century technicolor modern, without going that far. like to be secular, of course.

The Eternal City is home to some of the greatest architecture and art of the Western world. The design of the ninth asset in Bulgari’s hotel portfolio also reflects the city’s ancient history. There are marble columns in the main rooms and Roman-inspired mosaics in the bathrooms.
Of the 114 rooms, our junior suite was larger than most downtown apartments, with double-facing windows facing the apartments opposite. (It seems that all the neighbors love their houseplants, but they were very quiet. )There is a spacious dressing roomwith hangers and drawers more than enough for our conscientiously chosen mini-break capsule cabinets, but it is in the bathroom that he was ridiculed. . . Acres of mustard-colored marble surrounded by a hard shower, a bathroom deep enough for swimming (pour in the jar of salts next to you to enjoy an explosion of muscle-relaxing, herb-scented paradise), and separate sinks and bidets, hidden by a mirrored door.

At bedtime, it was fun to explore the pillow menu with features of aloe vera (for de-stressing), buckwheat (temperature regulator) and lavender (soothing), popular pillows were approved through Golidlocks: neither too comfortable nor too comfortable. Too hard, just fine. When it came time to prepare the meal, we discovered a set of small cups and a bottle of hot Mountain Berry herbal tea waiting for us at the coffee table. Your fundamental chocolate on the pillow may never arrive.
The Bulgari Hotel Rome is clearly an incredibly exclusive five-star luxury experience and its price demands exemplary service; However, unlike other identikit design destinations, everyone in the hotel is genuinely captivating and warm. Our suite was accompanied by two Yetlers, Giovanni and Clio. , which created a WhatsApp group. So, whenever we wanted to order room service, book tickets or schedule an outing to the spa, we can also send them a personal message. Confession: I just wanted to spend time with them. While the acres of marble on the front table and the modern, fresh minimalism of the hotel’s design may seem imposing, the genuine smiles and indeed the friendly attitude of the entire staff make the hotel calm and relaxed, so even if you’re not a Hollywood A Lister, You will still receive the red carpet treatment.
Every bite is a taste sensation (even the snacks in our supermarkets were elite dishes). In Rome you have to have an aperitif: small trays of snacks to accompany drinks before dinner. . . The limoncello spritz seemed to have superseded the Aperol as the No. 1 Edition and a dream combo with fennel salami, parmesan chunks, crispy fried mini calamari and croquettes.
At dinner time, Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito creates a variety of dishes that offer the best balance between fine and prepared food at the hotel’s Il Ristorante restaurant on the fifth floor. We ate on the terrace as the sky turned pink (and he battled mosquitoes under the table. ) Abdominal tuna with braised lettuce served alongside this cozy Pomodoro pasta classic. Main courses were interspersed with appetizers (a bloodless but very spicy tomato soup, the finest breadsticks we’ve ever seen) before the end of our meal of cream- and lemon-filled doughnut bombs, accompanied by a spicy lemon herbal tea.

Romans dress up for dinner. Men tend to wear pale linen and neutral-toned chinos (with loafers and no socks, of course), while women wore fancy heels and tight dresses, though I didn’t feel my fisherman’s sandals weren’t out of place. . Il Ristorante Bar and the more casual Il Caffé on the ground floor attract a local crowd of couples, groups and elegant business meetings. It’s a smart sign if you’re staying in a place where locals need to spend time. There is a resident-only restaurantliving room and bar on the more sensible grounds, decorated like a trendy beach bar with sun loungers covered with linen curtains and the new lounge?A small chocolate factory on the ground floor – Bulgari Dolci – that made us salivate.
While dinner (and lunch) included Italian clos angelesss, breakfast included all the foreign clos angelesss (eggs a los angeles royale, avocado on toast, smoked salmon, and the prettiest fruit angelesd salos I’ve ever seen), however, there were local specialties at the pastry shop to satisfy your every desire. Carbohydrate dreams.
4 floors of private attention sybarite. I got lost on the stairs looking for the entrance, even though Giovanni had already shown me the place and had presented me with an escort. Once I discovered my path, I was in another total world. There is a sumptuous gym and spaliving room, as well as remedy rooms stocked with Augustus Bader and Mauli products. I immersed myself in Bulgari’s signature facial that begins with a triple cleansing that turns into an intense facial massage and an icy gua sha sculpting session. My cheekbones were pointed and my skin had a serious glow. I plunged into unconsciousness before taking off the remedy table.

A tip: do not worry if you have booked a facial and you are taken to your “masseuse”. Therapists seem to be described as masseurs in Italy, although they do not do massage. As it was very hot on our layover there, instead of walking the streets in 40 degrees heat, making a stop at the pool was a daily necessity. Clad in gilded mosaics, surrounded by marble columns, framed by stained glass windows, ah, and a waterfall, this is where one imagines Roman times. emperors relaxing and feeding on grapes. Instead, I napped in a soft anthracite-gray bathrobe and stayed hydrated with running water from the refrigerator.
Worthy of royalty, literally.

This was our first stop and we felt compelled to see the most important tourist attractions. Some of them have been around for 2000 years, so they’re worth checking out, right?Everyone asked us if we were going to stop at the Trevi Fountain. the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps. . . These are all iconic destinations, but next time we’ll map out our own itinerary and explore further. For the surroundings of the Meatpacking District or Smithfield, head to Testaccio Market (a gastronomic dream), Pignati, a more edgy domain packed with bars, antique department stores and street art, or the pre-renovation equivalent of Shoreditch, St. Lawrence.
If you need a bit of culture, you should know that the queues at the Vatican are endless. You can buy a skip-the-line ticket to avoid them, which was definitely worth it; When you’re inside, be prepared for more lines. Visitors wander from room to room, filled with epic art and stunning sculptures, but there’s a one-way formula that can’t be ignored. We discovered ourselves in the Sistine Chapel after half an hour of slow movement (our step count that day was impressive). And there’s no conversation, no photos or videos allowed, and you keep moving. It is forbidden to have bare shoulders and stomach, so bring a shawl to cover yourself if you plan to make a stop at a place where your skin is exposed.

Taxis were not plentiful during our holiday (you have to choose one at a specialist taxi rank that was normally empty) or ask your hotel or restaurant to call one for you, before getting a small white sheet with your driver’s ID. Uber only offers Uber Black in the city, so be prepared to wait. . .
Outside the hotel, Antica Pesa is one of the must-visit restaurants in Rome, along with Anne Hathaway, Rachel Ziegler, and Zendaya, all past guests. We were also Armando al Pantheon, but we couldn’t find a table. Instead, the takeaway portions of Bona Pizza (Via di Tor Millina 34) eaten on the street were a gourmet delight (the taste of capers and zucchini flowers was a dream). As with the most productive things in life, it’s about mixing up and down. Elite hotel delight On a sublime street food? This is what Christmas dreams are made of. Rome was a joy.
