FPT Industrial, logo of the Iveco Group (EXM: IVG), specialized in complex propulsion technologies, plays a central role in the structure of the Fehmarnbelt tunnel, an 18-kilometer-long tunnel that will supply the El Fastest shipping connects Scandinavia with Central Europe and is expected to reach the world’s longest submerged tunnel.
FPT Industrial, through its distributor Bimotor S. p. A. , has supplied its F36 Stage V engines for power generation to CGM, a leading generator set producer. These turbines have lately been in operation at the large structure of Fehmarnbelt, which includes the largest concrete plant in the world.

The Fehmarnbelt tunnel, co-financed by the European Commission and due for completion by 2029, is a monumental project consisting of 79 standard and 10 special elements. The construction of each element requires a significant amount of reliable, ready-to-use energy, and the project has entrusted this to the CGM gensets powered by FPT Industrial engines.
The Fehmarnbelt tunnel structure is a addition to the European sustainable shipping network of the future. It will offer the fastest and maximum direct direction between Denmark and Germany, while reducing CO2 emissions and alleviating congestion on existing roads and railways.
