I just got a bunch of pictures

Warner Brothers Vaults

Original costumes.

I think the suit works well.

And it’s simply no frills.

Because today, other people have noticed a lot.

Different superhero costumes.

So how do you make it believable?

How do you take this outrageous concept?

A guy who steals and makes it real?

[Applause] [Applause from James]

Hello Gq.

I’m James Gunn and I’m Going to Collapse

My five favorite comedy movies.

[relaxing music]

I think I’m listening to e-book movies from comedians,

I’ve just done so many e-book movies of comedians.

and superhero movies.

I did it at least. . .

My God, I don’t know how many superhero videos I’ve done.

At this point, like six or seven.

I guess if you come with the films I’ve produced.

like the Avengers movies, so it’s a lot.

[relaxing music]

[Deadpool] Oh, hi. Isn’t it?

Who did I have to stroke my balls to get my film?

I’m getting to number five,

I’m moving on to Deadpool.

The first Deadpool and the Deadpool, in fact,

They are two of my favorite comedy movies.

They came here in the wake of the movie Guardians.

They even more, you know,

the comedies of the Guardians are,

And they were so done, so honest and funny,

and Ryan Reynolds kills him.

I think Deadpool is the best adaptation of a comic book,

Because comics are very ironic,

breaking the fourth wall all the time,

talk to the public,

And I do the film very well,

But it also helps keep you more grounded.

And it’s a little more central than the comics.

If you could see me, you would understand.

The look is everything.

Appearances are everything. Have you ever heard David Beckham speak?

Is it like he has sexed a helium can in his mouth?

You, Ryan Reynold, have come this far.

in its impressive action?

Love is blind, Wade.

Lol

You are blind.

Ryan is such a guy.

Me as Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man

or Christopher Reeve as Superman,

He’s one of the comedians of all time, you know, icons.

[relaxing music]

[Mi-do speaking in a foreign language]

[Suspense Music]

[Stuffed Baby Octopus]

[Dae-su nibbling]

Number four, I’ll say Oldboy.

Now, many other people don’t know

which is a comic ebook movie, but which is in a manga,

And it’s a Korean film.

It reinvented the action and ushered in the new era.

of Korean cinema, which continues to this day.

They still make action movies more productive.

in the world.

But as a film, it’s incredibly cinematic.

incredibly colorful,

really a bit impolite also beautiful,

and in the end.

There’s a genuine twist at the end,

So it works on all levels.

[thugs scream] [Guns are hitting]

[Guns go off] [thugs scream]

If there is a scene that stands out,

This is the hall fight.

It’s a huge inspiration to me.

And you can see our version

of a corridor in Guardians 3.

Different parlor action fights have been great,

whether in Oldboy or The Raid,

Another action movie.

We have one in Suicide Squad, and now in Guardians.

[relaxing music]

I am sorry. Do we know others?

[people whisper] [the dishes are hit]

It’s up to you for me.

My third favorite comedy ebook movie of all time

is A History of Violence, directed by David Cronenberg.

One of my favorite directors.

I like his movies.

From dead bells to naked lunch.

But my favorite movie from him.

It is the history of violence.

Viggo Mortensen plays the role.

It’s fantastic and it’s an amazing movie.

About a one who is a former murderer

who looks at this general life

and locks himself in his past.

When A History of Violence, too, as Oldboy,

I didn’t know it was based on anything.

I didn’t know it adapted from a novel

or above all knew that he had been adopted

of books and a graphic novel.

I saw it as a movie in itself.

So he didn’t have to live up to anything.

I had nothing to overcome.

It’s just an amazing movie in itself.

is emotional and passionate,

And the violence and the action are very rolled.

I mean I was influenced by History of Violence.

I influenced along the way

which did not act as an action movie.

You don’t see it and say, Oh, it’s an action movie.

but if you look

the Cronenberg films the action sequences of the film,

He is impressive and skilled.

Do it.

[Breathless Customer]

[Object Noises] [The Pangasps]

[The jug rings] [Leland groaned]

[swords]

[Leland hits] [object hits]

[rifle shooting]

[hit objects]

[rifle shooting]

[Glass Door Rings]

I think Cronenberg has one to transform the world.

Just a little bit to see something ugly about it,

In a way, if that makes sense.

And History of Violence does that.

Just transform this American family, just a little bit,

and we see in his soul,

And it’s not the most beautiful thing in the world.

[Laughs] Of all glorious things,

There is a glorious sex scene in the movie.

between Viggo and his family on the steps

When she discovers. . .

How to start noticing who he is.

I’m a great kind of sex scene.

I don’t separate sex scenes.

In the same dismantling the action scenes.

But I don’t forget that scene.

Because it’s so raw and so passionate, and so real.

[Deaf Tom]

[crackling footsteps]

And, in general, the sex scenes seem,

In fact, I wait until they finish.

They’re either useless, or just exploited, you know?

So it wasn’t like that at all.

It is a genuine component of the story.

[relaxing music]

[Exciting Music]

[Revolving door hiss]

Say, Jim, wow!

Excuse me.

it’s a suit [Superman’s Whistle]

Number two, I’ll have to go.

with a movie that my life,

and it’s Richard Donner’s Superman.

This is for me historically,

It’s a wonderful movie, but it’s also a movie I saw as a kid.

It has affected me a lot.

And me watching it at the Peres cinema

in Manchester, Missouri on his first outing.

Strangely, precisely the same theater as Jim Lee,

who created so many comic e-book characters,

I saw it in St. Louis because we’re from there.

But picked up in this film,

and I as a kid, I saw Star Wars,

And it’s like a wonderful magical moment for me.

And it’s the next big magic movie.

[Superman shouts] [Exciting Music]

is it hell?

[Superman’s Whistle]

Oh. Miss easy, I have you.

You have me. Who has you

You know, at that time,

They did precisely what we are doing now.

Tons and tons of actors pass by.

Let’s see who captures that spirit.

What they don’t communicate much

when communicating about Christopher Reeve,

They of their purity, of their hope, of their goodness.

They talk, you know, about how he Clark.

as being so different from the one he does from Superman,

and how you can turn it on in an instant.

But this joy about Superman,

When he saves a cat, he has this wry smile.

[Light Music] Well. Goodbye, playful.

See you later, now.

And that’s one of the most productive parts of the movie.

he is the playful Superman.

He loves what he does.

He loves human beings and he loves to save them.

They made the dress from the comics.

And they did it very simply, and it works well.

The colors look good.

I just got a bunch of pictures of the Warner Brothers vaults.

Original costumes.

I think the suit works well.

and it’s simply no frills,

how less difficult then than now,

Because other people have noticed a lot

Different superhero costumes.

So how do you make it believable?

How do you take this outrageous concept?

A guy who steals and makes it real?

I think, you know, what we’re doing is different.

it’s up to you

But I’m influenced by what Donner did.

with superman,

and what Christopher Reeve did with Superman,

and Margot Kidder, who is in the film.

It is the center of it in many ways.

[Pensive Music] [crackling footsteps]

The Fortress of Solitude is a set.

It is as if the gaze is created

through those Donner Superman movies.

And I think it’s a magical place.

It wasn’t that we knew,

but it was so well done and built wonderful sets,

And that influenced me a lot.

We have some of the greatest ensembles of all time.

in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3.

It’s wonderful to have genuine sets.

for places.

So, you know, he and the crew

kind of feeling of what happens when we are there,

and it’s better

than having a CGI festival in general.

[relaxing music]

[comic page noise]

[Thousands] Please continue. . .

Wait, wait. How can there be two Spider-Man?

There can’t be two Spider-Man.

[Reflective Music]

Power?

My favorite superhero movie.

And my favorite comedian e-book movie is an animated movie.

It’s in the Spider-Verse.

This movie works from start to finish.

There’s no rhythm to that.

He’s amazing. The excitement is incredible.

The dubbing is amazing.

Well done, well written, and I just don’t believe

that there is a bigger superhero movie

than in the Spider-Verse.

I think, you know, Into the Spider-Verse

It’s the first, you know, multiverse movie ebook comedian.

They did it in such a balanced way.

There weren’t many holes in the plot.

as there is in many of those multiverse movies.

They idea everything

And it’s very tight.

And if there’s something I respect a lot about a script,

In a movie, it’s being elegant

and doing all these things that go away

of the movie.

And this is the case, it remains aimed all the time.

Are you of dimension,

as a parallel universe

where things are like this universe, different,

and Spider-Man in this universe,

But to travel in this universe,

But – still don’t know how?

Wow, was that just a guess?

be to see

all those other Spider-Man characters,

Miles Morales and, you know, Peter,

and all the other characters that run in combination in a movie.

It’s kind of a dream come true for a child he loved,

You know, Spider-Man,

as much as I enjoyed Superman and Batman upstairs.

I think Spider-Verse influenced me.

In terms of looking to do animation

is secondary

There’s a merit to those animated films,

Because you plan everything.

You draw it on the fly.

You don’t go on set and film it,

it costs you millions of dollars,

and then you come with the pictures,

And then we have to see if it works or not.

I think that’s one of the reasons why there are so many smart ones.

adjusted animated films, and with the maximum frequency,

They are more than live-action movies.

The videos that made the list were Deadpool 2,

Iron Man, of course.

V for Vendetta is one of those that is almost on the list.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, I think, is fantastic.

There were a lot of videos I liked.

which is almost on the list, but I had to choose five.

And then, you know, I wake up tomorrow.

And I think I made a big mistake that I can’t get rid of.

[Interviewer] Can you give us a little summary?

from the list with its in it?

You know, my are like my children,

So I can’t say I like one more than the other.

I mean, listen.

With Guardians 1, I’m proud of how we did something.

which at the time was considered implausible,

But he did it in a classic that I speak

to the public of the world.

It’s a wonderful achievement for me.

By the time of the movie, I was proud of how, you know,

We tell this story about a, you know,

adoptive father and son, and how they got here together,

and how many other people have written to me over the years saying:

In spite of everything I like to forgive my father-in-law

because they made me.

People’s relationships

with his circle of family members.

For the Suicide Squad, the Suicide Squad,

We take great dangers and great changes,

and does ridiculous things

that devises a much more chaotic approach

in the movies, and I a lot of that,

and I learned a lot

through how to use A in this movie.

And then for Guardians 3,

I’m proud of how we,

You know, he gave each of those characters

The dignity they deserve

And he gave them the finish they deserve.

Alright, GQ. Thanks a lot.

These are my favorite comedian eBook movies.

It is possible that everyone will be replaced tomorrow, who knows?

But thank you for joining me

and I will see you soon.
