Government approves acquisition of Waterford Crystal for student accommodation

Minister for Higher and Higher Education, Simon Harris, with Professor Veronica Campbell, President of SETU, on the Waterford campus.

The Waterford Crystal site is student accommodation for the South-East University of Technology (SETU), after Higher Education Minister Simon Harris approved the move.

SETU will now sign the final contracts for the purchase of 20. 3 acres of the 37-acre Waterford Crystal site.

Speaking Thursday after the acquisition was approved, Harris said, “This is a pivotal moment for the progress of Southeastern Technological University. “
