The ex-wife of a celebrity rehab doctor who was gunned down at point-blank range has now been accused of orchestrating the murder-for-hire plot.

Ahang Mirshojae, 53, arrested following a police raid on her mansion in Calabasas, Los Angeles, on Thursday morning.

She is now among a growing number of people charged in connection to the murder of her husband Dr. Hamid Mirshojae.

Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman said at a news conference Monday that Mirshojae was accused of “effectively hiring a hitman” to kill her husband.

Details about the alleged hitman hire, such as the amount of money involved, have not been revealed.

“The horror and betrayal of this crime is beyond words, and it is with great sadness that we will also have to announce that charges have been brought against Dr. Hamid Mirshojae’s ex-wife, Ahang Mirshojae, in connection with this tragedy. ” Hochman said. Training

Dr. Mirshojae, 61, was leaving his Woodland Hills Detox clinic in California on August 23 when he was “ambushed” by a masked man, according to authorities.

Prosecutors said Evan Hardman, 41, of Tomball, Texas, approached the victim and shot him at point-blank range. He was pronounced dead at the scene as the shooter fled.

The homicide was recorded on surveillance video, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Department arrested Hardman in Houston on Tuesday and are now awaiting extradition to California.

Sarallah Jawed, accused of expelling Hardguy from the state days after the killing, was arrested last Wednesday by Los Angeles police. The 26-year-old is being held without bail before his arraignment on Jan. 6, 2025.

A fourth defendant, Ashley Rose Sweeting, 40, of Reseda, was also arrested last Tuesday and is accused of driving Hardman to and from Dr. Mirshojae’s workplace before and after the shooting.

She pleaded guilty last Thursday to one count of aiding and abetting after the fact. She remains in prison and prosecutors are asking for her bail to be set at $1 million. He is due back in court on Dec. 24.

A fifth suspect, Shawn Randolph, 46, of Valley Village, was also arrested last week. He was released without charge on Monday.

Mirshojae is scheduled to appear Tuesday in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom for his arraignment. He is currently free on bail.

Dr. Mirshojae has spent three decades alternating emergency care and addiction medicine, with his patients “celebrities, movie stars, athletes,” according to his website.

A few months before the murder, Dr. Mirshojae also attacked through 3 men armed with baseball bats, according to the Times. It is not clear lately if this attack is related to his murder.
