Here it is: the new and advanced consultant on how to watch Marvel videos and in chronological order.
We can thank Marvel for making things much clearer with the release of their “Official Timeline” eBook, as well as their own updated chronological order on Marvel’s website. Both have eased many of our temporary headaches.
Best of all, this chronological list will make you see the MCU from a different perspective. We’ll start with Captain America: The First Avenger in the 1940s and work our way up to the existing MCU in 2026. This now includes Netflix’s Marvel screens and Marvel’s One Shots to get the full picture.
As you can imagine, this chronological order is a little less straightforward than the list of release dates above. But now we have the official confirmation of where most of the MCU is located.
We’ve now reached 2025 and 2026, with some time back in entries like Deadpool and Wolverine (which take up position first in 2018, then in 2024).
She-Hulk, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania are set in this not-so-distant year of 2025. Secret Invasion and Guardians 3, more or less, will come later in 2026, but this is not part of the official schedule, so here we move on to the Disney Plus order. The most recent release in the Disney Plus series is Echo, which takes place five months after Hawkeye.
Marvel has also revealed the precise months or approximate windows in which things happened in the MCU but, honestly, it doesn’t matter if you just think about sitting down and eating them without doing your homework. All you want to know is that everything is now officially written above if you want to watch Marvel videos in chronological order.
However, we must warn you: Marvel doesn’t take the greatest care with its timeline. As such, our own calculations take into account Marvel’s official order for Disney Plus, the new book from it, and some calculated guesses. Some things may not be fulfilled. It makes sense in terms of canon or it may not have precise details to determine his years. Our advice? Try not to think about it too much.
But wait, more! Just before we dive into our guide on how to watch the MCU in chronological order, there are some admin responsibilities and notes to consider: I Am Groot’s “First Steps” short takes place before Guardians 2, while the rest of the shorts have place later. this sequel. Training
For now, we’ve placed Secret Invasion as the last task in chronological order because we accept that Marvel Studios is faithful to this one. Through its immersion in the multiverse and timelines, respectively, What If. . . ?and Loki occupy arbitrary spaces on the list, however, Loki comes after Endgame because of how varied the timelines have become.
If you’re like us, you might have an idea that watching Marvel videos and showcases in order on Disney Plus would be easy. Not quite.
The vast majority of Marvel videos are available on Disney Plus, but not all. Currently, only Spider-Man: No Way Home and The Incredible Hulk are not available to stream on Disney Plus in the United States. However, Disney Plus is by far the easiest way to watch the MCU in order. Let’s dig deeper into the list.
A few things to keep in mind: You may not find The Incredible Hulk on Disney Plus either. This is because the rights to the Hulk belong to Universal. As a bonus, The Amazing Spider-Man movies are available in the United States.
On top of that, The Defenders saga (Daredevil seasons 1-3, Jessica Jones seasons 1-3, Luke Cage seasons 1-2, Iron Fist and Marvel’s Defenders) are now on Disney Plus, but are separated from the list for confusion over the “main” MCU videos and shows.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 are now also available on Disney Plus after hitting theaters in 2023. Marvels followed suit in February 2024. Deadpool & Wolverine is not yet on Disney More and is not will do it. This will be for a while as it’s still playing in theaters, but we expect the release date to be announced by the end of the year.
The undeniable answer is that only Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home are in the MCU. Houses focused on Spider-Man like Venom or the next Kraven are part of Sony. Spider-Man universe and be treated as a separate entity, even if there are occasional crossovers.
Now we come to the confusing point: the multiverse. Thanks to Spider-Man: No Way Home, we’ve had Spider-Man villains across the MCU multiverse. To fully perceive the motivations and intentions of everyone in No Way Home, you’ll have to have seen some old Spider-Man movies. .
These are located in three swap timelines: one in which Tobey Maguire is Spider-Man, where Andrew Garfield is Spidey, and a third in which Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock becomes the villain Venom. To fully dig into how to watch those videos, check out our advisor on how to watch Spider-Man videos in order.
Long story short: Tom Holland’s Spider-Man ultimately exists in the MCU, along with Sony’s other Spider-Man videos that exist (loosely speaking) in the multiverse. Don’t expect them to reappear in the main Marvel universe anytime soon. .
Technically, this also exists as a component of the larger multiverse (in fact, No Way Home was referenced in the Spider-Verse sequel), but it shouldn’t be seen in any other order than as a component of its own trilogy. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has also just been added to Disney Plus, for those who need to embark on one of Peter Parker’s most tragic cinematic adventures.
Then there’s The Defenders Saga, which was once considered part of the MCU, but isn’t either. They start off being very hooked on movies and then gradually lose all connection, basically because they are Netflix products.
Now, however, they’re all on Disney Plus and, yes, Marvel Netflix screens are canonical. If you need to face Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and The Punisher, you need to know the order of surveillance. Luckily, we’ve got precisely the piece you’re looking for: how to watch The Defenders Saga in order. The list is also below:
Daredevil’s story, which began in She-Hulk and will continue in Born Again, picks up roughly where the Netflix series left off. Daredevil also appears briefly in Echo, as does Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin.
The X-Men, on the other hand, exist entirely outside of the MCU as part of Fox’s (formerly) X-Men Cinematic Universe. But things get confusing when it comes to mutants thanks to the recent return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. – as well as whether the events of The Marvels’ post-credits scene go where we think they’re going.
Deadpool
Basically, the door on the Fox X-Men videos is closed at the moment and they exist on the outer edge of the MCU rather than being firmly within it. Only time will tell how mutants will be counted in the cinematic universe in the future. For now, you can watch them with our advisor on how to watch the X-Men videos in order.
Marvel Studios’ most recent production, X-Men ’97, is a continuation of the ’90s X-Men: The Animated Series and isn’t part of the MCU’s larger story (yet), but it may be canon as part of the multiverse. Formation
If you’re short on time (and interest), you can technically skip everything listed here if you’re just concentrating on the MCU, we’d definitely feature the previous Spider-Man videos and Spider-Verse videos for more understanding. of the multiverse and a deeper appreciation of No Way Home.
Here’s how to watch Marvel in order. So what are you waiting for?
