ITV has announced that I am a celebrity 2020 will take up position in the UK, which in its usual scenario of the Australian jungle, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Once back through Ant and Dec, the twentieth series of the exhibition will be broadcast live every night from a ruined castle in the countryside.
This year’s celebrities will face a series of difficult challenges again, but this time they will fight the first king or queen of I’m a Celeb Castle.
The format will be the same with bushtucker testing and the demanding situations are still in progress.
“We announced last week that we were doing everything we could just to make the screen and I’m glad we can present the screen to viewers, but in the jungle. We have a wonderful team on and off screen and I know it will produce an incredibly entertaining series,” said Kevin Lygo, ITV’s director of television.
Richard Cowles, entertainment director at ITV Studios, added: “We have made every effort to see that the series is unfolding in Australia.
“Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and despite the fact that we analyzed many other contingencies, it has become transparent that it was simply not imaginable for us to travel and make the exhibition there. However, we are all very excited about a British edition of I’m A Celebrity. Although it is in fact another to produce the series in the UK, the same tone and feeling will remain.
“Our celebrities will probably have to swap shorts for thermals, yet they can expect fundamental nutrition of rice and beans and a lot of emotions and surprises along the way.”
ITV has been announced when the series will be released, but let’s say more data will be released “in due course”.
Previous years have noticed that camping companions flew into the jungle in mid-November.
I’m a Celebrity filmed around Springbrook Australian National Park, and filming also takes place in the vicinity of the city of Dungay.
The 2019 series won through former Eastenders star Jacqueline Jossa. She ended up in front of celebrities such as Andy Whyment, Roman Kemp, Kate Garraway, Nadine Coyle and Caitlin Jenner.
