Only for Colton Dixon’s girls!
Five weeks after American Idol’s 28-year-old student and his wife Annie welcomed their two daughters Ava Dior and Athens Elizabeth, the couple were honest with PEOPLE about the serene “dream-inspired” nursery they created for girls, furnished with Pottery Barn’s Children’s Items.
“We didn’t forget to enter the room that was for daycare and the idea of ‘dreaming’,” explains the couple. “After talking to PBK about daycare, we learned that our daycare dreams would come true.
“It’s a whimsical paradise for our daughters,” they add.
As for the aesthetics of the room, “we are looking for a transparent and airy area with basically unbiased tones and small touches of color. PBK gave life to our vision, and we add black and blush to our white room with soft wooden cots. “

And along with a multitude of fluffy, full animals, Dixon and Annie “felt that unicorn mecedoras ($199) were the best touch to complete the twins’ room,” they add.
New parents tell PEOPLE that “the cradle favorite is the corner with the mecedora,” which is a PBK Bedford chair ($269 to $959).
“It’s a position to have a good time with our daughters,” they explain. “We place the chair on the acrylic shelf, making it the best position for them to read, sing and rock to sleep.

Although Dior and Athens have been sleeping in their parents’ room lately, they say young children have already liked their sleeping space.
“We know they’re going to love every detail of the play!” the couple told People. “Lately they like the mirror behind the conversion table. It gently reflects and provides them with anything to look at when monotonous diaper changes. “
“We’re excited to create a lot more there,” they share.
