GONZALO HIGUAIN says he has “lived abnormally” top-level football over the past 15 years.
That’s because the former Chelsea star claims players “don’t have the same rights” as other people when it comes to criticism.
Higuain, 34, has played for some of football’s most sensible clubs in a brilliant career that began at River Plate.
The former Blues striker has played for Real Madrid, Napoli, Juventus and AC Milan.
And Higuain now manages his U. S. industry with David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
The former Argentine star has amassed goals and trophies, not to mention a huge sum of money.
But one thing Higuain wishes he had more respect for: respect.
The hitman believes that once footballers start playing at the highest level, they immediately become dehumanized.
Higuaín complains that he “can’t faint in the street” after having a bad game of the insults that come to him.
But after a lifetime of complaining while playing, Higuain now insists he “won’t tolerate it anymore. “
He told TyC Sports: “I said I had lived 15 years abnormally. People think we have a simple life, and not at all. “
“We don’t have the same right for you to go out on the street, be insulted and you can’t react, because if you do, the effect is twofold.
“If you lose a game, miss a goal or lose a game, you can’t faint in the street.
“The footballer lives conditioned to a result. It’s a sport, it’s a job, and don’t get confused. We are all human.
“I find it very unfair to have lived 15 years in the elite and not to have been able to react at times when I had to bow my head to insults and disrespect. At this point in my life I can’t stand it anymore. “that.
“I no longer tolerate ignorance, disrespect or aggression. I have never experienced them in person, only by other anonymous on social networks. But I’m sure it will end when they have to show their face.
“Nowadays we make jokes with all kinds of things, but we have to be aware of what is generated, because with five seconds in front of a computer you can ruin a person’s life.
“I’m in one of the most productive moments of my life. The only thing you fear in football is success, not how far it goes.
“I’m already at a point in my life where neither the compliment makes me feel older nor the complaint makes me feel worse. The maximum is balance, and when one is calm with himself, the other is secondary.
“I am calm because I gave my life and more for the Argentine national team. I’m proud of what I gave for the national team and I don’t do anything at all. “
