What does a celebrity like to play a celebrity on TV? According to Jennifer Aniston, “cathartic.”
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday, the 51-year-old actress spoke about her role as a morning host on the Apple TV series “The Morning Show”.
“(It was) cathartic, yes, and I was also drawn to see how I’ve tried to normalize being okay and ‘everything is fine, you know, everything is normal,’ and then there are times when you have your privacy breakdown,” Aniston said. “To look at it from the brains of an actor who observed and identified him, I had to look at him instead of pretending he didn’t exist.”
She continued: “This 20-year treatment exhibition grouped into 10 episodes. Arrangement… There were times when I read a scene and felt like a man’s hole had been removed from my back.
Aniston excelled in the 1990s sitcom “Friends”, where she played Rachel Green alongside her co-star Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc for 10 seasons.
He also talked about the parallels between his character in the series and the things he experienced in genuine life, adding a scene in which his character Alex Levy is melting at an awards event.
‘There have been times, not at this point of hysteria, but moments of ‘I don’t need to (swear) pass here,’,’ I don’t need to be seen, ‘I don’t need to be looked at and everyone happens to communicate about me and judge me’… it’s real, ” said Aniston. I enjoyed being able to stop by and look at it without feeling embarrassed. that’s it.”
The star-studded “Morning Show,” which also stars Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell, follows a newsroom that is rocked by an inappropriate sexual behavior scandal, to the real-life drama involving former “Today” co-host Matt Lauer.
Despite the strength of the stars, as reviews were released last October, top critics said the show’s confusing status was lacking. At the time, the screen had a metacritical score of 57 out of a hundred and was indexed as 57% new on Rotten Tomatoes. In August 2020, Metacritic’s score is 61 with a 61% rating from Rotten Tomatoes.
