The American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada, featured a surprising drama involving an NFL legend.

Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice confronted two other people who asked him questions Thursday as they walked the field with the NFL’s most productive receiver of all time, and ultimately threatened violence. The natural speculation would be that Rice was angry about anything. provocative and reacted accordingly. However, from the video of the incident, it does not appear that this is the case.

Rice can be seen telling one of the reporters, “I’m going to fuck you. “When security separated Rice from the two men, he walked away and said, “If you need some, come get it. “The video taken from The Confrontation was received through TMZ Sports, which published the clip on social networks.

Jerry Rice lost to two reporters at the American Century Championship golf course in Lake Tahoe on Thursday. Reporters asked if the Chiefs’ receiving core was smart enough to win a Super Bowl. After the incident, a viewer asked one of the reporters (who works for Starcade Media, according to TMZ) what happened. He said “the craziest thing that’s ever happened to me,” and then said he asked Rice if the Kansas City Chiefs’ receiving corps was smart enough to win another Super Bowl.

The Chiefs finished seventh in the NFL with a team-consistent 4,383 receiving yards, although that number includes yards compiled through tight ends and running backs in addition to receivers. Kansas City didn’t have a 1,000-yard receiver. Travis Kelce is the Chiefs’ top receiver with 93 receptions for 984 yards.

Rashee Rice led the team in receivers with 79 catches for 938 yards, but faces a suspension for his involvement in a multi-vehicle crash that resulted in eight criminal charges against him.

Kansas City added two notable receivers this offseason, signing free agent Marquise Brown and drafting Texas speedster Xavier Worthy with its first-round pick. The team re-signed Mecole Hardman, lost Márquez Valdés-Scantling in free agency.

We sat on this video for a day because we surely weren’t looking for negative exposure for Jerry Rice or the tournament, however, this TMZ story has now come to light and we felt the desire to set the record straight on what happened. TMZ spotted Rice after the incident and asked her about it, to which she replied that she took it as an attack on her former team, the San Francisco 49ers, whom the Chiefs beat in last season’s Super Bowl. According to Rice, the men had “smiles on their faces,” indicating that they were looking for a reaction from her.

While it’s hard to hear everything in the video, Rice’s account of the confrontation doesn’t question what reporters said. Speaking to the onlooker, one of the reporters warned that Rice may have been intoxicated. This cannot be verified. It is, therefore, a “he said, he said” scenario, in which each aspect has its own edition of events.

In a message posted on social media, Starcade Media insisted that this meant no disrespect to Rice and that it was not seeking to galvanize Rice. There were also no “satisfied smiles. ”

Perhaps Rice’s emotions about the Chiefs’ receivers will be revisited later in another context.
