Jollibee brings the Philippines to Edison

EDISON – Celebrity Chef Anthony Bourdain called Jollibee “the craziest and happiest place on the planet” as a stopover in the growing Position of Philippine fast food in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.

And “the craziest and happiest position on the planet” came to the municipality – 760 Route 1 North – in the position of the old fast food restaurants Roy Rogers and Arby. Edison’s location is the fast food chain’s prime location in New Jersey after opening a location in Jersey City at 393 Danforth Ave. 2013. A third location opened in July in Journal Square PATH Square, also in Jersey City.

Since its official opening on June 6, long queues have been made via the drive-via service, preventing traffic on Highway 1. Law enforcement were even available to direct traffic.

“We are very revered and moved by the warm welcome and help we have gained from our New Jersey enthusiasts, especially amid the pandemic [of the new coronavirus],” said Maribeth Dela Cruz, president of Jollibee Foods Corporation North America, Philippine Brands. “We, our circle of family member consumers, your protection was our most sensible priority when we opened our store momentarily in Edison state in June. To provide a safe environment for consumers and our store team, we have not yet opened our dining room and inspire our enthusiasts to benefit from our takeaway, on-call and driving options. »

Dela Cruz said the Edison store was a great fortune “not only because our enthusiasts have been looking ahead for this new store, but because they perceive that we put them first and that we respect the measures of sanitation and social estrangement.

“We opened our third store at Journal Square PATH Square in Jersey City in July, where we’ve been similarly lucky and are offering a takeaway and on-call pickup service,” he said. “While we look to the future to bring Jollibee to even more cities in the United States, protecting our team members and consumers will remain our most sensible priority as we move forward further.

Jollibee is the flagship logo of Jollibee Foods Corporation, according to its website. With 37 retail outlets in the United States, 1300 retail outlets worldwide and many more to come, Jollibee’s project is to spread the pleasure of eating.

The first in the United States opened in Daly City, California, in 1998. Since then, others have been opened in California, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Washington and Virginia. The places are also in Manitoba and Ontario in Canada.

According to the website.

Bourdain had visited Jollibee twice at his travel and food exhibition “Unknown Parts” in Manila and Los Angeles.

During the episode in Manila, he asked for spaghetti and bird’s joy, which he described as “disturbed … seductive.”

In Los Angeles, he visited the Jollibee with prominent chef Roy Choi and ordered an Aloha burger, a bite with SPAM and a halo-halo, a popular bloodless Filipino dessert. He called the food “tasty.”
