Kelly Ripa speaks in tears about the death of Regis Philbin

Kelly Ripa spoke about the death of her former co-host Regis Philbin. Philbin died saturday for herbal reasons at the age of 88.

In Live with Kelly and Ryan, she spoke when she discovered he was gone. “Mark [Consuelos] and I were lucky enough to have all our young people with us last Saturday,” Ripa said. “We were all in combination when we heard this terrible news.”

She continued: “As other people get older, you know that things are inevitable, and death is one of those things, but Regis is one of the other people we all think about, I think, to find a way to solve the problem. Inevitable. It wasn’t in the letters, I suppose.”

Ripa organized Live! with Philbin for 10 years.

Later in the video, Ripa expressed his condolences to Philbin’s circle of relatives and told the audience that he deserved to be buried on the Notre Dame campus in Sound Bend, Indiana. He was a big sports team fan.

He also spoke of Philbin’s reputation at Seacrest. “I know that thanks to Regis and I have painted with you all these years to organize the Disney Parade, we have seen you as Ryan as Array … They don’t like Regis anymore, do they? And then here’s Ryan Seacrest and Regis says, “This guy’s got it. They gave it to him. “That’s what you no longer see, the ethics of paintings and the ability to tell stories.”
