‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Star Calls ‘Yellowstone’ ‘Deplorable’ But Has Auditioned For Exhibit ‘Several Times’

According to Vulture, Gladstone’s father is of Blackfeet and Nez Perce heritage while her mother is White. In a 2017 interview with The Guardian, Gladstone shared that she lived on the Blackfeet Nation reservation in Montana until she was 11.

Gladstone starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro in Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” and David Grann’s nonfiction book of the same work.

The actress played Mollie Kyle, an Osage Nation woman living on the tribe’s reservation in Oklahoma. In the movie, her character marries World War I veteran Ernest Burkhart (DiCaprio).

Gladstone, who is the first Indigenous user to win the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama, admitted that she auditioned several times for the hit series (Golden Globes 2024 Getty Images).

Set in the 1920s, the film follows Mollie as she “fights and sheds light on the wave of greed-driven murders committed against the Osage network following the discovery of oil on their lands,” according to a plot synopsis.

During his interview with Vulture, Gladstone praised “Killers of the Flower Moon” for focusing on its indigenous characters.

“It’s not the story of a white savior,” he told the outlet. “It’s the Osage saying, ‘Do something. Here’s some money. Come with us. ‘”

In an interview with The Atlantic in November 2022, Sheridan criticized critics who claimed “Yellowstone” was “anti-woke. “

Sheridan continued, “And I just laugh. I’m like, ‘Really?’The series is about the displacement of Native Americans and how Native Americans were treated. . . corporate greed. . . of the gentrification of the West and the Earth. Is it a red-state show?

The Paramount show, starring Kevin Costner in the title role of ranch owner John Dutton, will air the second part of its fifth and final season in November 2024.
