The BBC soap opera was forced to take a three-month break due to the coronavirus pandemic, but filming resumed in Albert Square in June.
However, despite a sharp increase, the BBC soap opera failed to fit its ITV rivals with Emmerdale attracting 4. 51 million viewers and Coronation Street saw through 5. 31 million.
The figures are not up-to-date and all soap operas benefit from a strong accumulation of jet lag figures.
The new episodes were filmed with actors and a team that adhered to social distance patterns, screens, double paintings and CGI to film intimate moments.
