The first blind competitor to compete in Celebrity MasterChef Amar Latif sailed last night, reaching the next and impressing the judges and spectators.
TV presenter Amar, who lost 95% of his sight at age 18 due to a genetic condition called “pigment retinas,” cooked for the show’s judges, John Torode and Gregg Wallace, before joining the lunch service at London’s Mortimer House restaurant.
Viewers praised the screen for adding Amar in his lineup, and one fan wrote on Twitter: “It’s wonderful to see a disabled celebrity on screen. I love cooking and cooking displays and think tactics to make the kitchen more accessible. “

Amar has spoken exclusively to RadioTimes.com of his resolve to appear on the show, revealing that he first told his agent, “Tell them that I’m blind and I can’t cook!” »
He continued: “They introduced me, so I met them and told them I couldn’t cook, but I never give up.”
He later added: “I never see any obstacles. I was an accountant when other people said I couldn’t be an accountant. When other people told me I couldn’t be global as an independent blind man, I did so by creating the first corporate in the world that allowed the blind to pass out on their own. And, dazzlingly, television. So I thought, “Great, let’s move on!” “
