Lacy, who has been a wide receiver for the LSU football team, said for the NFL Draft, which is scheduled to take position on Thursday, April 24 from Saturday, April 26.
Months before Lacy’s death, he reportedly worried about a fatal twist for fate’s cars. In December 2024, Lacy was arrested and charged with negligent homicide, misdemeanor, and reckless driving. Authorities believed at the time that Lacy would have possibly caused the twist of fate before the scene.
“While Lacy illegally passed the other vehicles, the motive force of a Northern pickup truck crude and swerved to the right to avoid a head-on collision with the oncoming Dodge,” a Louisiana state news release said. “The holiday behind the collection was a 2017 Kia Cadenza whose motive force was put to the left to prevent Dodge’s cargo vent. While Kia Cadenza took evasive action to avoid having an effect with the Dodge, it crossed the midline and made a head-on collision with a southbound 2017 Kia Sorento. “
Lacy’s agent, Rocky Arceneaux, told ESPN in A at that time that the former athlete was “fully cooperating with the authorities. ” Lacy denied any participation through his lawyer. It was released with a bail of $ 151,000 and a large jury was scheduled to start hearing on Monday, April 14.
“As the defense suggests for Kyren Lacy, I wish to address negligent murder fees and explain the facts surrounding this tragic incident,” attorney Matthew Ory said in a February statement. “On the day of the accident, Mr. Lacy was driving on a highway with two lanes, one in each direction.

“The collision that resulted in the death of [another driver] not caused through the actions of M. lacy,” Ory continued. The turn of fate occurred directly in front of him when a moment in the approximate lane crossed the central line and crashed with [the] vehicle, in which he was a passenger. “
Ory denied the concept that Lacy caused the twist of fate and shared that his consumer “practiced driving the cars after the move to safety. “
“It is to emphasize that Mr. Lacy did not cause or make a contribution to the accident. There was no suspicion of alcohol or drug use,” Ory concluded. “Furthermore, contrary to some media reports, Mr. Lacy never “returned” to the scene of the accident. . . He did not believe that the accident was of the community, and as such, he continued with his daily activities.
