First, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were completely removed from Buckingham Palace’s online page before their lengthy individual biographies were replaced with a not-so-unusual 500-word section.
Instead of the lengthy individual biographies the duo had in the past, the two now share a short and pleasant profile. The Daily Mail writes that it has been reported that the palace press office is slowly updating the online page after Queen Elizabeth’s death and will do so in time.
Sources reached out to the Daily Mail, insisting that the changes should not be seen as a slap in the face, but as a long-awaited update.
Buckingham Palace also included a link to Harry and Meghan’s new Sussex. com website, which was seen as a goodwill gesture.
While the Sussexes parted ways with the royal family in January 2020, their detailed biography has remained on Buckingham Palace’s online page for more than four years until today. The first sentence of their new profile explained that they “retired as active members of the royal circle of relatives” and then offers brief summaries of their two most notable lifetime accomplishments. This means that they are now the only married members of the royal circle of relatives who do not have their own individual profile.
The new bio includes a photo of them smiling, arm in arm on a beach in South Africa with colorful necklaces hanging around their necks. Prince Harry’s profile is then first written and provides a brief summary of his appointments with the royal family, his tours of duty while in the armed forces, his good fortune co-founding the charity Sentebale, and his paintings on the creation and organization of the Invictus.
