Esut Ozil rejected rumors that he plans to end his professional career.
The 33-year-old frozen at Fenerbahce, 18 months after arriving at the club after being placed in a similar scenario at Arsenal.
Fenerbahce’s new coach, Jorge Jesus, has made it clear that the midfielder is in his plans at the club, talking about the “end of the Ozil era” and insisting that the player “had had his moment”. Ozil faced a dubious long career even more when Jesus arrived, after being eliminated from the first team for disciplinary reasons in the previous year.
His agent, Dr Erkut Sogut, gave an interview to the Telegraph last week and warned that Ozil could enter the world of esports in the near future, sparking discussions about a possible retirement from football.
However, Ozil took to Twitter to insist that he remains committed to Fenerbahçe and has no intention of walking away from the club or the sport.
“I wanted to do this to avoid discrediting myself in public and to tell our community well,” Ozil tweeted.
“First of all, I make arrangements with a special program, and I patiently wait for my time to come to meet my formative years, love and contribute.
“I didn’t come on holiday to Fenerbahçe and my homeland, Turkey. Every time I sweat our excellent t-shirt, I have no other goal than to contribute. I have many goals that I would like to live in Fenerbahçe, my formative years. love. I probably wouldn’t quit football until I do those things.
“My club and I are going through an inherent procedure in football. It is my highest preference to serve my beloved Fenerbahce by going through this procedure in the most productive way imaginable. “
“My request to our enthusiasts is not to give credence to fake news in the media. “
