MVC rotates to 3 locations

April 29, 2024

STREET. ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Valley Conference has announced future venues for its women’s basketball championship.

Over the course of 3 years, the tournament will be held at 3 venues: the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana (2025), the Xtream Arena in Coralville (2026), and the Vibrant Arena at MARK in Moline, Illinois (2027).

All 12 MVC women’s basketball teams will compete in the four-day tournament, which will culminate with a championship game on Sunday. The league tournament champion earns an automatic spot in the NCAA Tournament.

“The championship’s rotational style features three notable venues and communities committed to improving women’s basketball,” said MVC Commissioner Jeff Jackson.

The 2025 MVC Women’s Championship at Ford Center in Evansville will be the 18th consecutive year the league will host a women’s basketball championship at an unbiased venue. MVC has already played its first women’s basketball event at the Family Arena in St. Louis. John’s. Charles, Missouri (2008-15) and at the MARK’s Vibrant Arena in Moline (2016-24). All 22 MVC Postseason Championships have been held at campus venues.

In 2024, the MVC was one of six games to opt for an unbiased and independent tournament of the men’s competition (ACC, A-10, Big East, Pac-12 and SEC).
