Nasarawa murder: Sule instructs the net to hunt criminals

On Sunday, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule accused the citizens of Udege’s leadership of catching thieves among them following the killing of the village leader of the Odu network, Mr. Amos Obere.

Through Mr. Ibrahim Addra, the governor’s Chief of Press (CPS), he cited him for making the indictment during a briefing at the “Osu Ajiri” palace, Halilu Bala-Usman in Udege, a region of the local government of Nasarawa.State.

The governor said fishing for criminal elements would not only bring peace, but would boost the region’s progress.

“We believe there are thieves among the other people in this region and we want to catch them,” he said.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the safety of the lives and assets of others in the state.

He said the governor expressed fear of the resurgence of mistrust in the region, which had not been violent a few months ago.

He added that criminals would not be allowed to trunce peace and economic activities in communities.

For his part, Bala-Usman congratulated Governor Sule for strengthening security in the region and for advancing the Mararaba Udege – Udege Mbeki road.

However, it called for the appointment of more district chiefs in the region to facilitate management and security.

He said the governor was accompanied on the scale of the former governor and senator representing Nasarawa West, Abdullahi Adamu and other government officials.

The team then offered condolences to the palace of the vanquished village chief.

Meanwhile, nasarawa State Police Command promised to remove the killers from the village chief.

Nansel Ramhan, the head of public relations for the state police, told the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) in Lafia sunday that the command had opened an investigation to get to the bottom of the cases of the attack.

He said the police would depend on his oars until the killers were identified, arrested and prosecuted.
