NBA No. 1 pick in 2001 denounces black celebrity “gatekeepers” for “embarrassing” voters before Kamala Harris

Brown, who played thirteen seasons in the NBA, continued for about five minutes, criticizing comedian and host Rickey Smiley, who recently criticized black social media users who didn’t know Harris.

“Every time a guy goes on TV, or goes on his radio show, and forces or tells his fans to get attached or get rid of other black people who don’t like Kamala. . . What if other black people voted for [the independent party]?presidential candidate] Cornel West? Oh, that has no compatibility with his narrative,” Brown said.

Brown then began pointing out that “inflation is at an all-time high” and he doesn’t think Harris is going to fix that for African Americans.

“When you’re talking about real-life situations, people don’t care if someone is black or not,” Brown said. “You don’t pay anyone’s expenses with your skin color. Kamala Harris probably won’t help you pay your expenses. “just because she’s black. “

Brown then called Smiley, comedian D. L. Hughley, and Steve Harvey form the “gang of those who get along”, implying that they are Harris just because she is black.  

In particular, he criticized Harvey, who recently called Harris an “alley-oop” to the electorate on Election Day.

Brown was first drafted by the Washington Wizards in 2001, but the top school star at Glynn Academy in Georgia never joined the Wizards in four seasons.
