Lin-Manuel Miranda will return with new music for the film.
As told through Rafiki to Simba and Nala’s daughter Kiara, the prequel to the 2019 live-action remake of The Lion King tells the story of how her grandfather Mufasa was king of the Pride Lands. The story will also reveal how Mufasa and Scar have gone from loving brothers to bitter enemies, as Timon and Pumbaa sprinkle in their colorful commentary.
Mufasa: The Lion King will mark Kiara’s second feature film appearance since the direct-to-video sequel The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride, though she will also appear in the Disney Channel/Disney Junior animated series The Lion Guard. Aaron Pierre and Kevin Harrison, Jr. will play young Mufasa and Scar, respectively, while Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner will reprise their vocal roles as Pumbaa and Timon.

As for what would happen in the movie, some actors shared some ideas.
