Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has been just as competitive in his bid for Washington Commanders.
According to A. J. Perez of Front Office Sports, none of the bids submitted before the original Dec. 23 deadline exceeded $6. 3 billion. Also, Bezos wasn’t one of the potential buyers who made an offer before that first deadline.

Perez noted that there were estimates that the team could also sell for a record $8 billion, but noted that Bezos likely wouldn’t have opened up with a large bid in an effort for a costly bidding war. Bezos added some celebrity to the potential sale, as Sara Nathan and Michael Blinn of the New York Post reported in November that actor Matthew McConaughey joined an organization with the Amazon founder and Jay-Z.
Snyder’s legal considerations weigh heavily on the entire sale process, as commanders have made headlines for much more than football boxing matches in years.
Washington hired attorney Beth Wilkinson in 2020 to conduct an investigation, picked up by the NFL, that revealed a culture of sexual harassment, intimidation and other misconduct.
The commanders were fined $10 million and Dan Snyder was forced to hand over the day-to-day to Tanya.
In December, the House Oversight and Reform Committee released a report that led us to think Snyder had escaped doubt and was “misleading” in his answers when he was forced to testify.
On the field, the Commanders haven’t won a playoff game since the 2005 crusade and finished in last place last season with an 8-8-1 record.
