The Haikyu volleyball anime ends with two movies, the first of which will be released in 2024.
Haikyu The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump will hit Japanese theaters on February 16, 2024. The Western release date has yet to be revealed, a new trailer in Japanese teases the upcoming domestic showdown between Hinata’s Karasuno and Kenma’s Nezuko.
While the trailer largely reuses old footage from the show’s fourth season as each school progresses through the volleyball tournament, it turns out there’s a brief scene from the upcoming film, in which Hinata flips a better Kageyama set that forces an ironic and Nezuko reaction. Always shy.
After a hiatus of several years, you can be forgiven for forgetting exactly where our favorite team of passers, attackers, and blockers ended up. Nekoma’s path to the Nationals is detailed in The Path of the Ball and Land vs. OVA’s Sky, both released in 2020.
Manga readers, however, will be well aware that the two-part film is unlikely to succeed in finishing the source material. As the team would say: don’t worry, don’t worry. The whole national tournament deserves to be covered. and it’s quite a story.
