Oppo’s new telephone is the Oppo Find N3 Flip, a 6,799 yuan (~$932) foldable telephone that is no longer in China but will soon be available in the rest of the world. The Find N3 Flip will take on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip five and the Motorola Razr, and while either of those phones has tried to force itself with a giant front-facing display, the N3 Flip’s front-facing display is essentially the same length as last year’s. However, Oppo makes up for this with a giant spec sheet.

It’s a full-size phone, with a 6. 8-inch, 2,520-× 1,080, 120Hz internal OLED display, and everything folds in half, fitting into a smaller 16. 45mm thick square. Once closed, you can casually poke around at the small 3. 26-inch front screen. The fun component of this design is that the 720 × 382, 60 Hz OLED front looks like a mini phone and has some proprietary mini-apps for gaming, such as a media player, notification view, and a weather app. , a fitness app and a few more. The front display is rarely as large as Oppo’s competition, as it has a large circular camera bump, adding 3 sensors, a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultra-wide, and a 32MP 2x telephoto lens.

The SoC is a Mediatek Dimensity 9200, includes a 4nm SoC with an Arm Cortex X3 core at 3. 05 GHz, 3 Cortex A715 cores at 2. 85 GHz and 4 Cortex A510 cores, plus an Arm Mali-G715 Immortalis MP11 GPU. It also comes with 12GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB UFS 4. 0 storage, side fingerprint reader, support for Wi-Fi 7 and NFC.

Of course, the big problem with these foldables is the battery, and they get a 4,300mAh battery with a 44W charge. A non-foldable phone of this length would feature a 5,000mAh battery, but compared to other rotating phones, the 3,700mAh Galaxy Z Flip five and the 3,800mAh Razr: that’s pretty good. All those specs are pretty good, in fact. Sometimes phones come with mediocre components, but it looks like flagship hardware.

Oppo’s marketing department is based on the theory of “foldable phones as a fashion accessory” with the N3 Flip. Almost every image on the marketing site shows a glamorous phone user on a yacht, at a wedding, or in an art gallery. Oppo has partnered with several fashion corporations to create a variety of instances that look like designer handbags and some even feature a shoulder strap.

The “mode” angle is here, as there’s no serious merit in terms of usage for those new-age telephones if you’re just looking to get things done. Once opened, it’s the same as a regular telephone, but it has spent a premium on the foldable screen and you’ll have to deal with questionable durability and lose much of the battery life thanks to the hinge. You’d better think this telephone looks great, because that’s all telephones have to offer. . If you like the look, it’s perfect! But otherwise, a general phone is much more comfortable.

The design is a little different for this year’s N3 Flip, with the more sensitive part featuring a rounded glass back, as opposed to last year’s flat design. The sides have been polished to achieve a mirror-like shine and the protrusion of the camera is surrounded by quite a bit of knurling. Oppo has also borrowed the three-position silent transfer from its OnePlus subsidiary. It comes in pink, an attractive pearly gold and black.

If you can follow the path, pre-orders in China are already online, and the phone will ship in September. The N2 Flip has been widely distributed, so the rest of the world will eventually get it.
