Pete Davidson makes a wonderful appearance in a new romantic comedy.
The 28-year-old Saturday Night Live star appears in the latest trailer for Jenny Slate and Charlie Day’s I Want You Back about two strange newly singles helping each other through breakups. Peter (Day) was left through Anne (Gina Rodriguez), while Emma’s relationship (Slate) ended with Noah (Scott Eastwood).
In the trailer, Davidson drags Day’s character through an experiment with a drug.
“I’ve never made a molly. Will my center explode?” asks Davidson, who responds with a smile: “No. You’re thinking about crack, man!” Day replies, “That’s what it was. “

The film, which also stars Manny Jacinto, Isabel May, Jami Gertz and Clark Backo, is directed by Jason Orley, who directed the 2019 film Big Time Adolescence starring Davidson. Orley also directed Davidson’s 2020 Netflix comedy special Living from New York, and they will team up again for the biopic I Slept with Joey Ramone.
The official description of the film reads: “Terrified to have lost their chance in their thirties and horrified at the thought of having to do it again, Peter and Emma hatch a desperate plan to win back the love of their lives. Everyone will do anything to end their exes’ new relationships and end them running into their arms. “
Sharing the first trailer in December, Orley joked on Instagram: “I spent last year making this movie with incredibly talented people, and now that the pandemic is over, I can still share the first trailer. Enjoy it!”
