Golf and celebrity Tiger Woods showed Tuesday morning that PopStroke’s first location in Texas will open Dec. 16 in Katy.
Two 18-hole courses spanning more than 60,000 square feet will be part of a complex that includes a full-service restaurant, beer garden, rooftop bar, ice cream parlor and other family-friendly entertainment features such as playgrounds and playgrounds.
The highly anticipated debut will be the fifth PopStroke to open in the country and the first outdoors in Florida. Woods and her business husband Greg Bartoli plan to open more locations in Arizona, Scottsdale and Glendale in the coming months and other expansion plans. it can come with Las Vegas and Dallas.
“We believe this will be the most productive edition of PopStroke yet,” Bartoli said. “We like to think we’re for ages 3 to 83 and everything else. “
The popularity of golf and Houston’s growing population helped bring PopStroke to Katy, Bartoli said.
The Katy Grand Center is surrounded by many nearby retail stores, restaurants, and other entertainment venues, such as competitor Topgolf.
PopStroke aims to provide a more exclusive experience, from Woods-designed golf courses to dining options, Bartoli said.
“It’s an exclusive place for an immersive golf experience with fine dining, craft cocktails, beer with premium flavors,” Bartoli said. “But there’s also a local touch to each and every PopStroke venue. “
A Lone Star burger with a special blend of beef and fried fish will set Katy PopStroke apart from other places, said Andrew Veneski, culinary and development director.
“You don’t get laundry service or a country club atmosphere, but you also don’t look at a clown or shark in the room,” Veneski said. “It’s exclusive but from an informal point of view. “
A morning opening rite will be held at 23110 Grand Circle Boulevard on Dec. 15 before PopStroke opens to the public at noon the next day.
While Woods intended to appear at the opening, consumers could one day place next to the overall winner 15 times. The company announced its PopStroke Tour championships this year, which will offer cash prizes among players, professionals and amateurs.
