Rihanna is one of the greatest icons of all time, from her bop-filled music to her amazing appearance on a red carpet, to her barrier-breaking lines of makeup and skin care. he selected one of the members of his family circle as the icon of good looks: his mother.
In a new 15-question Vogue video, Rihanna joins Ambassador Fenty Skin A$ AP Rocky to answer, you guessed it, 15 questions, from her first impressions to her favorite swear word and favorite shopping budget. $ AP asks you about your supreme icon of good looks, Rih responds honestly, temporarily and with such kindness. “It’s going to sound very redundant and very clichéd, but [it’s] my mom,” Rihanna says.
“My total concept of good looks came from her. I was so intrigued there. I was looking to dress like her. I was looking like her, combing my hair like her, makeup like her,” the tycoon continued. . Rihanna’s mother, Monica Braithwaite, worked as a saleswoman for makeup and perfumes, and Rihanna says she “learned from the most productive” by creating her own brands. “I had the most productive teacher: my mother. “
During her conversation, which continued at GQ, Rih also revealed to A$AP that it was her mother who encouraged not only her but also her siblings to take care of themselves. “I think I’ve had that kind of opinion of her, ” he says. And, of course, the message that taking care of yourself and being pampered, regardless of gender, is vital, was a message I also wanted to send with Fenty Skin. “My concept of good looks has been [by] a black woman, so the way I developed this concept is to do skin care in a more impartial concept, where men also feel included,” Rih says. “Men love their skin and take care of it, but they feel compelled to use only ‘men’s’ products, because everything beyond that is too feminine Array . . . it’s not for them . . . they don’t really allow the word until they’ve realized their representation, and you’ve represented a lot of those men for me,” he told A$AP.
Rihanna also talks about her most productive purchase for less than $20 (spoiler alert: it’s a must-have oil diffuser) and her own adventure in skin care, the Q&A session. “My skin type is as confusing as men’s,” Rihanna says as A$AP laughs. “I’ve been through a lot of skincare adjustments on my adventure. I started with acne to tenderness and melasma when I was a black woman without knowing how to use SPF. I learned a lot.
