Riz Ahmed and Octavia Spencer are expected to lead a mysterious sci-fi invasion.
In the film, two young brothers flee with their father, a decorated Marine, who is on a rescue project to save their children from an inhumane threat. As their adventure takes them in harmful and unforeseen ways, children will have to face harsh truths and abandon their childhood.
Amazon Studios will produce Invasion. The film is directed by Michael Pearce (Beast), who also wrote the screenplay with Joe Barton (Giri/Haji, The Ritual). The film’s manufacturers are Dimitri Doganis (Three Identical Unknowns) from The Raw Production Company, Piers Vellacott (American Animals) and Derrin Schlesinger (The Nest). The task will be presented with Film4, who developed it with Raw.
News of the assignment was first interrupted through Deadline, who announced that the film was intended to be filmed in the United States this year.
