The Slainte Davaar Allstars led the good luck of the singer who died in 1969 at Machrihanish Air Force Base near Campbeltown, in homage to astronaut Chris Hadfield’s famous canopy edition.

They worked with the Mull of Kintyre Music Festival and machrihanish Airbase Community Company for the song and recorded the video after the forced cancellation of their annual event in Campbeltown.

The edition of the band will be broadcast on the station this Saturday when it is released on Facebook.

A spokesperson for the festival said: “With the launch of this year’s annual music festival, organizers eager to check on any novelties and present classic and fresh artists to a new virtual audience, had the concept of partnering with the local base and their unconventional location for the exclusive concert.”

Event Manager Iain Johnston said: “The festival has encouraged others from all over the world since its inception 28 years ago and, of course, we were disappointed, like all other occasion organizers across the country, to have to cancel this year. However, what better way to make it positive than to make our music interstellar.

“We hope that the astronauts will receive the Scots as much as we do.

“When it comes to level sets, it may not be as impressive as Chris Hadfield’s, but it’s still quite unique.”

The music festival also organizes virtual concerts after the cancellation of this year’s event.

Space Oddity’s policy was expected to raise awareness of a new crusade to raise awareness of the new “Kintyre66” assignment that was created to provide the Kintyre Peninsula as a holiday destination.

Scheduled to be officially introduced in January, the circular address will be 66 miles on the A83 and B834, adding Southend-Machrihanish, Campbeltown, East Kintyre, West Kintyre, Gigha and Tarbert.

A new downloadable guest consultant will be presented with the aim of attracting tourists to the region and, hopefully, a successful tourist season in 2021. The crusade is directed through Explore Kintyre – Gigha Tourism and Marketing Group and supported by CalMac Ferries.
