Selena Gomez is heading back to television in the upcoming Hulu comedy series Only Murders in the Building!
The 28-year-old actress and singer will star alongside comedy legends Steve Martin and Martin Short in the upcoming series. They all are serving as executive producers as well.
Deadline reports that “Only Murders In The Building follows three strangers (Martin, Short and Gomez) who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one.”
The show marks Selena‘s acting return to television following the conclusion of her Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place in 2012. She has a new cooking series premiering on HBO Max this month.
“I heard the pitch on Wednesday, and it was the best hour I had all week,” Hulu’s head of originals Craig Erwich told Deadline. “It’s really special, surprisingly emotional. It’s really modern and self-referential about podcasts and murders, it’s got some great surprises. When they pull this off, it’s going to be really special.”
Earlier this week, Selena revealed the music artist that she dreams of doing a song with one day.
Selena Gomez made a surprise appearance during Twitch’s Animal Talking stream tonight, where she not only confirmed she was working on a new album, but also spoke about working on music with Taylor Swift.
The 28-year-old singer and actress has been friends with 30-year-old Taylor for a very long time and the two have shown their support for each others’ careers in many ways.
“I’ve always dreamt of doing a song with Taylor,” Selena shared. “We both wanted to do that.”
She went on about the possibility of teaming up with Taylor, “It just feels like we’re family…she’s been my best friend. But we’ve talked about it for sure.”
Just recently, Selena opened up about what she thinks of Taylor‘s surprise album, folklore.

Selena Gomez is back!
The 28-year-old singer took to Instagram on Wednesday (July 29) to share an update with fans about why she’s been absent recently on social media.
“Hey! I wanted to take some time to do a quick message for you guys because I haven’t been posting that much. I just wanted to let you know that I love you guys and I miss you and there’s so many exciting things coming up that I can’t wait to share with all of you,” Selena shared. “I just think at the beginning of this year, with everything going on, it felt a little insensitive to post things that may be a little just… joyful or celebratory, it was really hard for me.”
Selena went on to tell fans that she will start posting now again.
“And, I’ve taken the time to learn, truly learn about what’s going on and I continue to make that my priority,” Selena continued. “But, just letting you know that I’m going to be a little bit more involved and I’m just sending more love and gonna show you some more of my personal stuff and what I have been doing. But, thank you for being here, and thank you for supporting me always and I will talk to you soon.”

Former The Bachelor contestant Madison Prewett is speaking out about her friendship with Selena Gomez!
If you don’t know, fans were shocked to learn that the pair were friends when they were seen hanging out right ahead of Coronavirus lockdowns. The timing also came just as The Bachelor finale aired, where she and Peter Weber revealed they were going to give their relationship another shot. They split a short time later.
“[Faith] is something that is just a really big part of our friendship,” Madison told Us Weekly. “I’m very selective with who I allow to really, like, get really, really close to me. And with those that I really invite into that space, it’s really important to me that we’re pushing each other and encouraging each other in our faith, and just being there for each other on the good days, the bad days and encouraging and praying for each other along the way.”
