“I can’t stand. I can’t drive a car. I can’t see. I bump into objects. I’m dragging my legs,” Blair recalled, telling the pros. Some attributed the pain to stretched tendons during labor, while others advised she suffered from postpartum depression. Blair now knows that the “sheer exhaustion” he was experiencing at the time was a result of his condition.

Although Blair continued to book jobs, his pain was more consistent than the painting opportunities. “I forced myself to get on a plane and I was afraid of heights,” she explained. “I’d wake up and I couldn’t move. “
“It was a very complicated time in my life,” she revealed. But it was the catalyst that allowed me to become who I am now. “Today, Blair is still trying to find his way. She suffers from spasmodic dysphonia, an MS-related disorder that affects her speech, and walks with a cane and a service animal, but acknowledges that she has been criticized for not necessarily presenting herself as a user with a disability.
